26 weeks on labour and birth with a videoooo

we've been studying up on child birth over the last couple of days. trying to educate ourselves as best we can so that we can be prepared for the incredible, beautiful experience of labour and birth.

i really am so excited for the birthing process. it is something that scared me before i was pregnant. i used to get grossed out by pictures and footage of women giving birth. now that it is a reality for me my thoughts have taken a complete turn. giving birth has to be one of the most beautiful experiences available to women. what an incredible privilege. trusting in these amazing bodies to do what they are designed to do. to see and feel my body change in the months leading to birth blows my mind.

i can't wait for those feelings of elation. feelings of my body moving and changing to allow for this child to be born into the world. i can't wait for the feelings of accomplishment for the best day/s work in my life. i can't wait to connect with timmy in a way we never have before in this completely new experience together. i know i'll need his strength to get me through, to keep me calm and focussed and to help me remember that my body was designed for this, that i have the strength and ability. i know that he'll be everything i need him to be.

the reward at the end, no matter the process, is one that will be worth any experience encountered during birth.

most of all this little baby is the thing i can't wait for the most.

accent vlog

be prepared for something a little bit funny and a little bit weird.

courtesy of Em Beetleshack and Talia Christine, behold the accent vlog.

no one likes the sound of their voice recorded. one time watching was enough for me. eek.

timmy is pretty flippin' cute though.

play along...?
The instructions are to say these words:
Aunt, Route, Wash, Oil, Theater, Iron, Salmon, Caramel, Fire, Water,
Sure, Data, Ruin, Crayon, Toilet, New Orleans, Pecan, Both, Again,
Probably, Spitting image, Alabama, Lawyer, Coupon, Mayonnaise, Syrup,
Pajamas, Caught

And answer these questions:
What is it called when you throw toilet paper on a house?
What is the bug that when you touch it, it curls into a ball?
What is the bubbly carbonated drink called?
What do you call gym shoes?
What do you say to address a group of people?
What do you call the kind of spider that has an oval-shaped body and
extremely long legs?
What do you call your grandparents?
What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry groceries
at the supermarket?
What do you call it when rain falls while the sun is shining?
What is the thing you use to change the TV channel?

note the cleaning roster on the blackboard. haha. this is really funny if you could see my house right now.

25 weeks on the river bed with a videooooo

you like videos, don't you?

yesterday for the first time i felt properly pregnant. like, give-me-a-chair-every-five-steps-pregnant. pretty sure it was all due to over tiredness because, after my nap yesterday afternoon and a great sleep last night, i'm felling good again.

plus i found a pair of timmy's jeans this morning that i can do up. completely. yessssss.

on saturday i had acupuncture. for the first time. i was a little nervous, needles aren't my favourite but i'm not a complete wuss. my sister is a naturopath and has two awesome natural health clinics in sydney. she had a feel of my back and booked me in stat for an appointment with the acupuncturist. let me just say after my initial calming self-talk and with the help of some enya, i fell asleep with those needles in my back. i also had the best sleep of my big bellied life that night.

and also bless the person that invented the belly wedge pillow too. goodbye to the 6 foot body pillow and welcome back snuggling in bed with timmy.

for week 25 of the pregnancy timmy and i walked on the river bed at gerroa at low tide yesterday. under the bridge and over the crab holes. i also showed timmy some of my awesome t'ai chi and yoga moves. that's me shooting my arrow and doing my buddha pose. i was being serious you can tell, haha. timmy was laughing.

the awesome track on the video is called Elephant Gun by santa fe and you can buy it here on iTunes.

robertson with a videooooo

yesterday we went up to visit one of our favourite little towns. it's called robertson.

robertson has two of our favourite things in it - an amazing bakery with the best meat pies ever. annnnd the best most reasonably priced vintage store you ever imagine owned by an incredibly lovely lady named  ali.

timmy documented our day in video and pictures.

i guess you can call this a vlog? i'm not a fan of that word, it's a bit gross.

enjoy :)

the awesome song used in the video is called Go Outside by The Cults. you can buy it on iTunes, here.

20 Week Scan With A Videooo

scans are my favourite.

although i do always feel a little ill after them- possibly due to the belly jiggling to get the little one to move.

this scan was particularly exciting. our radiologist was just lovely annnnnd, our little one greeted us with a big yawn the second its face was on the screen. one of the cutest things i've ever seen.

the baby really looks like a baby now.

with all the movements i'm feeling and after seeing a gorgeous face. this. is. real.

the most spiritual, beautiful, incredible, special time of mine and timmy's lives.

thanks baby.

the jelly was cold but i didn't mind at all. our baby was kicking its two legs, moving its arms and fingers and toes. its little heart pumped blood fast all around its body.

we had a beautiful surprise of getting a 3d picture of the baby's face and a cd of the ultrasound. timmy condensed the half an hour of footage into a beautiful three minute little clip.

we're not finding out if it's a boy or girl. the radiologist was very respectful and didn't hint at anything. if you think you know, please don't tell us! surprises are the best.
