building a cot

ikea is a wonderful place.

we have a cot. it has it's own room. it was super easy to set up and it looks pretty flippin' good.

now to move all of our stuff out of the babies room. right now the babies room is our wardrobe eek. i think another trip to ikea is due - we need a wardrobe.

photos of the completed nursery will be here once the nursery is complete. ha. check back next pregnancy, maybe my nesting will last more than 20 minutes next time.

tim's nesting has however, brought us one nice weed and rock-free backyard, pictures and mirror hung on the walls, multiple dinners prepared, staircase fixed, old metal fixtures from the concrete slab in the backyard removed and trees trimmed away from power lines etc. he has been one busy bee and i am very grateful for him.

i have a goal to have my hospital bag packed and the nursery finished by the end of this week.

maternity pads - check.

any suggestions of items to add to the bag?

doughnuts

this is my mum and dad a few years ago on their wedding day (i wore mum's dress at my wedding ceremony). dad (tezza) turned 60 last weekend.

i think he enjoyed the night.
i did too. the food was great. it was awesome spending time with the family.
my dad is great. this is a perfect photo of him.

sydney has had tim and i twice over the past week- once for dad's party on the weekend and another trip up to on wednesday for a trip to the temple, a bondi burger at oporto, train to the city, visit to ikea and mcdonalds. it was a good day.

ikea is a wonderful place. unfortunately they were doing their room changes so quite a bit of the rooms were under construction. we ate doughnuts, a hotdog and a pizza pocket all for $5. timmy spoke to an absolutely adorable japanese kid in japanese while we ate our $1 hotdog. this will be our japanese fix as our trip was cancelled due to the terrible disasters. still hard to comprehend what is going on all around the world. and makes me feel a little silly about what i consider to be my 'problems'. also makes me happy about the little things like doughnuts and visiting pa at the nursing home on st. patricks day and seeing an old man with a shamrock sticker on his forehead.
