39 weeks in the blue dress

right now i have a biiiiiig belly. a couple of days ago we re-created our first ever maternity shoot (12 weeks). i can't stop looking at these photos side by side. not because i like myself or something but because i can't believe that i ever had a stomach that flat - i can't believe how big my belly is now, how much my body has changed to accommodate our little one.

now we wait. baby coulson's due date is tomorrow. the countdown is over, we have one full formed bub that is putting on a little more chunk everyday, snug and squished in its little space.

we're ready for you little one. come and let us see your beautiful face.

33 weeks with rain on a tin roof

the day has been filled with sound.

this morning was sound of the youtube kind. first stop - flight of the concords, followed by "the voice" performances, which brought us to the doobie brothers. that's my kinda morning.

the rain is falling now, just how we like it. lots and soft. we have a tin roof and the sound is so beautiful.

today i am grateful for sound. soon we will hear our little ones first noises and it will hear the rain on the tin roof, troopers yawns and timmy playing the piano.

we attended the incredible calmbirth classes over the weekend (i'll post all about it during the week) and there we were encouraged to talk to our baby. tell it all about how excited we are to meet it, what a beautiful world we live in and how much we love it already. we have been talking to our baby the whole pregnancy but i think in these last few weeks we will be more aware of what we say and speak more often. i want this baby to know who it's mum and dad are - to recognise the sound of our voices and look up at us with big eyes that say "hey, i know you".

i can't tell you how excited i am to have our baby placed on my chest. to see timmy's eyes well up full of love. to be our family complete - for now.

Sunday Sunday

today we went to church.

yesterday we went to up to sydney for timmy to take photos of a beautiful family. while he was working i walked to the nearby place called newtown.

when i was a teenager i thought newtown was the coolest place ever and would catch the train to get an istanbul on king kebab and shop at dangerfield and quick brown fox. newtown has great places to eat, shops to buy clothes that noone else has, heaps of op shops, poster shops etc and so forth. the people who live and visit newtown are very diverse so there is always plenty of people watching to do. 

i still think newtown is great to visit and yesterday it didn't hold out on me. i found the sandals i have been pining for for months and also a dress that will fit my baby underneath it for the next 6 months.

on the way home from church today timmy and i stopped so he could take some photos. the new dress is representin'.
